We insist that our meat processor save the hides of the sheep for us. We remove the excess flesh and dry them under salt before sending them to Driftless Tannery in Argyle, Wisconsin. The tannery uses true bark tanning techniques (without heavy metals) to make the water-resistant sheepskin.
This brown skin is soft and supple but the leather has eight small holes.
It measures 36 inches long, 26 inches wide, and the wool is 5 inches long.
